Animal Microchips

One of the wonders of modern technology is the computer microchip. Now it has successfully found a place in animal and pet identification. A small chip, about the size of a grain of rice is implanted in your animal's shoulder. Each chip is unique and after successfully inserting it in your pet, the unique code is registered and is permanently associated with your animal/pet. A person using a special scanner can read the code and will be able to quickly identify and returned the animal to its owner rather quickly.

This is a permanent identification with the tracking number recorded in a national registry so it is not just a local program. The national registry allows humane societies, veterinary clinics across the country to scan your animal, and identify it as yours.

Registering your pet's chip with the national registry is the only way to positively identify your pet, trace it back to you as the owner, and get your pet returned to you.

Registration is done for you when the chip is implanted and is included in the fee for implanting.

Anyone interested in the chip should contact Mountain View Animal Clinic for more information.
